                                      FULL-TIME CUSTODIAN

The Waterloo School District has a position vacancy for a full-time custodian. Must have experience in the use of custodial equipment, grounds-keeping equipment, and basic hand tools, ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to work from ladder or lift, skills to perform minor repairs and maintenance, ability to follow directions and to work independently.  Beginning wage rate $14.51 per hour; benefit package. Eight Hours per day:  6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (school year), 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (summer). Instructional Assistant

The Waterloo School District has a vacancy for an instructional assistant. This is a school year position scheduled Monday through Friday with hours set based on student needs (around 5 hours per day) starting as soon as possible. The assistant will work under the direction of a certified teacher and the pupil services director, assisting with the implementation of instructional programs for the acquisition of academic, social, and daily living skills. Position involves working in individual and/or group setting with regular and special education students, some of whom have limited English abilities and some of whom have significant disabilities. Ideal applicants would have an associate degree or two years of college education and be willing to obtain a special education assistant license. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply.

Waterloo School District is looking for cook/server substitutes.  Work hours are primarily 10:30 AM– 2:00 PM, but times may vary.  Qualifications – Must hold a high school diploma or GED. Lifeguards

The Waterloo School District has vacancies for lifeguards during the 2015-16 school year. These positions vary in hours weekly (flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends) for twelve months per year.

  • Qualifications: Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR, certified Good interpersonal skills to work with variety of young people and adults
  • Other skills: Dependable, punctual, ability to make decisions and assume responsibility
  • Responsibilities: Supervise and direct actions of swimmers in the pool and deck area Guard safety of swimmers in pool and deck area
  • Hourly Rate: $7.25 - $8.10 without WSI certification; $7.50 - $9.30 with WSI certification
