MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF OTHERS
Some things are best learned in the classroom, others require doing. Waterloo High School students make a difference in the lives of others.
Waterloo High School seniors who have completed 200 hours of volunteer service during their high school career will be awarded the Silver Cord to wear for recognition at graduation. The goal of this program is not only to acknowledge students, but also to encourage the development of their own leadership and citizenship skills. Current WHS students will be grandfathered into the program. The graduating class of 2023 will need 50 hours to qualify, the class of 2024 will need 100 hours, and the class of 2025 will need 150 hours.
We encourage you to explore how you can get involved in your community. These volunteer experiences may be included as part of your scholarship, college, and job applications.
